EDSA 3 Colors of Iglesia Ni Cristo is PowerLESS

Please follow the links and read about how the involvement of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) is really evident to the violent protest EDSA 3

Here are some points that needs to be highlighted...

  • One member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo told CNN that followers are being encouraged to join the pro-Estrada demonstrations.
  • Another INC member told ASIAWeek that ..."There was a [church] circular ordering us to go to EDSA. ...When an emcee told us to go [to the presidential palace], we went."
  • 3 of 4 protesters that have died in the violent protest are members of Iglesia Ni Cristo, many of the 113 people injured were INC members, as reported by Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ)
  • INC media arms net 25 and DZEC, a radio station owned by the Eagle Broadcasting Corporation provided almost a round-the-clock coverage of the EDSA III. notably, other media groups (e.g. ABS-CBN 2 and GMA7) were not welcomed by the protesters to cover the protest.

To say the least, EDSA III was really an anti-government violent protest that led to the death of some Iglesia Ni Cristo members and injuring many. (The violent protest led Gloria Arroyo to declare the National Capital Region in a STATE OF REBELLION). Compared to its predecessors EDSA 1 & 2, EDSA 3 can be hardly be called as People Power. Mob Power as ASIAWeek aptly called it. After the protesters desecrated the EDSA shrine (a catholic church with a huge Virgin Mary statue), they marched to the Malacanang palace while the awaiting police confronted them to protect the Malacanang palace. a mob attack followed. Iglesia Ni Cristo forbids their members to join any labor groups but what happened to EDSA III when Iglesia Ni Cristo members protested against the government?

Religion should promote Peace, Love and Understanding.
Not anarchy.

Political influence of Iglesia Ni Cristo church is undeniable.
It's a fact.

This is why church or any religious organization should not interfere with the affairs of the state.
EDSA 3 does not concern any moral values or spiritual well-being of Filipino people.
EDSA 3 was a violent political protest against the government of Gloria Arroyo.
How come that a religious group (Iglesia Ni Cristo) is very much involve in EDSA 3?

EDSA 3 maybe a nightmare to inc church administration and members they wanted to forget,
EDSA 3 maybe an embarrassing defeat for Iglesia Ni Cristo members they wanted to forget,
but one thing is for sure,
International press and Filipinos are always watching.

History does not forget.
And so are we.

    1. What happened after Edsa 1 and Edsa 2? Any improvements? Did we become rich? Isn't it that the Catholic Church was very much involved on those ILLEGAL Edsa 1 and Edsa 2?

I bet international press should investigate more. They just know almost a quarter of what happened. They can just see through their lenses, and nothing more.

    2. @mr. wayne - I hope you are not justifying the EDSA 3 by putting down the EDSA 1 and 2. Iglesia Ni Cristo failed in EDSA 1 by supporting Marcos instead of Cory Aquino. EDSA 3 is more ILLEGAL compared to EDSA 1 and 2. Your poor logical thinking shows you are just another fanatical INC member. I pity you for following the Manalo family. Iglesia Ni Cristo is a political cult. EDSA 3 is big political mistake for INC.

On the Joseph Estrada article, you are trying to discredit the PCIJ, now International press? hahaha!

    4. I was a member of the Iglesia then in 2001 when the EDSA III happened. I got disappointed with what happened to Erap then. For me, what they did to Erap was really too much to take despite of his involvement with jueteng. This was one of the reasons why I left the INC. The head of the INC made a cowardly act in letting its members join the rally while the church leadership decision was "Bahala na kayo". It's like it's up to you if you will attend the rally or not, but actually that "Bahala na kayo" means yes go to the rally but do not make us responsible if something happened to you. There were deaths among the rallyists some were even INC members. The church did not make any comment about these deaths. When the EDSA III failed, the Sec of Justice Perez went to INC to talk to the church's leadership. The church leadership washed their hands in the church involvement in EDSA III. According to them, when the rallysts headed to attack Malacanan, they ordered their members to leave the rally immediately. The question was with more than a million people that time, how could they inform their members to leave? They only put the lives of their members in danger (because of some deaths of some members) without taking responsibility on their decision.

    5. This religion is dangerous. And I pray that Eduardo Manalo will come to his senses and visit The Coordinating Center in Apalit and be converted.

    6. EDSA-III: ROOT CAUSE: INC SHOW TO THE GOVERNMENT OF GMA THAT WE ARE ALSO A CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY.

ERAP WAS VOTED BY MAJORITY OF THE PILIPINO PEOPLE BUT THE OPPOSITION GROUPS HAS BEEN UNITED JUST TO VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE OF ERAP AND TO CAST HIM OUT ILLEGALLY, DRAGGING THE INNOCENT PEOPLE WITH THEIR SIDE.

ERAP, DID NOT ORDER THE UNIFORM MEN TO SHOOT ANYONE IN THE RALLY BUT GMA DONE IT.

AS AND FOR BEING A PILIPINO CITIZEN AND NOT BY INC MEMBERS, WE KNOW OUR RIGHTS AND WE JUST USING IT THE SAME WITH EDSA-I AND EDSA-II.

      WHY ONLY EDSA-III IS ILLEGAL?
